November Notes…

Forget the plastic Christmas trees you saw at Walmart in July … the holidays are actually here! As such, our next meeting will be our holiday get-together, complete with a “Dirty Santa” photograph exchange. This also means we will NOT meet at Dury’s or at our usual time. Instead, see below…

S.N.A.P. Christmas Party
And “Dirty Santa” Exchange

Brentwood Swim and Tennis Club

(2.) Festive snacks and/or drinks to share with your fellow members
(3.) One of your photographs for the Dirty Santa Exchange. It does not need to be mounted, but it should be wrapped so no one can see it, and at least 8×10, unless there is a special reason for it to be smaller.

National Juried Exhibition – Open Call for Art and Photography
The Arts & Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville is calling for entries for its 12th Annual National Juried Exhibition.
Approximately 40-50 works of all styles and genres from emerging and established artists will be selected for display in February 2018 at the Balcony Gallery of the Emporium Center.
Entries must be original works completed in the last two years in the following categories: 2-D (painting, drawing, mixed media, printmaking, photography) and 3-D. Work cannot have previously exhibited in any Alliance exhibition. The nonrefundable entry fee is $40 for up to three works. Up to three additional entries may be submitted for $7 each. Prizes include at least $1,000 in cash awards, and exhibiting artists will receive a catalog of the exhibition.
Works will be selected by juror Jeffrey Morton, a recipient of a 2015 Individual Artist Fellowship from the Tennessee Arts Commission. Morton’s work has Japanese art and culture influence and has been exhibited regionally and nationally.
