Call for SNAP Submissions – March 2018 |Theme “LANDMARKS”

As a SNAP member, you are invited and encouraged to submit photos for our next SNAP Photography Show. See more about eligibility below.

Theme: LANDMARKS. For this show, “landmarks” can mean a prominent object or feature of a landscape or town, especially those that enable someone to establish their location – something perhaps iconic representing that place or neighborhood. Might include buildings, monuments or other structures; might be of cultural or historical significance. Or more broadly, might be something signifying an important stage or turning point or benchmark.

Juror: The juror for this exhibit is Emily Naff, an Associate Professor of Photography at Nashville State Community College, who has lead several Study Abroad Programs (e.g., the Netherlands, Italy, Brazil and Japan). Her work may be seen at https://www.emilynaff.com/index.

Venue: Green Hills Library, 3701 Benham Avenue, Nashville 37215 https://library.nashville.org/locations/green-hills-branch.

Key Dates:

• Deadline for submission: Friday, Feb 9
• Notification of selections: ~ Feb 19th or soon thereafter (our best guess)
• Selections brought to Green Hills Library, ready to hang: Thursday, March 1st
• Artists Reception: Thursday March 15, 5:30-7:30
• Unsold pieces to be picked up: Saturday March 31

Guidelines to submit your entries:

1. This is open to active SNAP members only.
   It’s easy to become a SNAP Member: just attend a meeting and register at

• You may submit up to 4 entries. Entries should not have been selected for earlier exhibits. Keep in mind the venue is a public space, with patrons of all ages and sensibilities.

• Naming of files: first initial + lastname _ theme+ entrynumber.jpg

  Example: Emily Passino’s first entry would be named: epassino_landmarks1.jpg

• Please submit all works as JPG files, with a minimum of 1024 pixels on the long side.

Framed Images: The accepted images should not be larger than 16 x 20 framed out or smaller than 8 x10 framed out, black frames with white matting with a wire across the back for hanging.

Other useful information:The juror will select up to 25 images for the show.
