Read below for updates on our two exhibits now in process, as well as one planned for September. See what we have planned for our monthly meetings (as well as where!). Read about photography with SNAP and other artists around town, and other opportunities to submit entries. And don’t forget there are three ways to stay up to date with us: through email notices, our Facebook group, and our https://snapnashville.org website. See these details at the end of this month’s SNAP NOTES.
Meeting Summary and Updates
April: Sadly, our Frist Outing in late April had to be cancelled, but several were able to make it to the photography panel the next day, on Photography and Activism, with Keith Calhjoun, Chandra McCormick and Dr. Makeda Best moderated by Dr. Susan Edwards. See other photography happenings around town at the end of these notes.
May: Our joint meeting on May 1st sponsored by the Brentwood Photography Group and Dury’s featuring Sam Abel, a Cannon Explorer of Light, was pure inspiration. Thanks to Sue Henry, BPG president and S.N.A.P. member for organizing and inviting us. Perhaps his main message was “Compose and wait.”
June: We will reconvene on our regularly scheduled June 26 meeting to share “Before/After” photos. Everyone is encouraged to share 1-3 photos (at least one photo!), showing the photo(s) before any editing/processing, and after. You may send these in digitally to firstname.lastname@example.org, or bring prints. Your choice whether to bring before/after images you’re pleased with, or something you’re not entirely satisfied with (or a mix). Either way, we hope to learn from each other – tips, tricks, philosophies.
Time: Tuesday June 26, 6:30 – 8:00
Place: Stefan Engstrom’s Office. Education Networks of America: 618 Grassmere Park #12, Nashville, TN 37211 (https://goo.gl/maps/EAjfKo6HU312). This is an agreeably more centrally located spot, and we thank Stefan for making this possible. Continue reading
