SNAP Notes…

Hi, SNAPpers! I hope everyone is taking advantage of the spring-like weather to get out and shoot. At our last meeting Byron Jorjorian spoke on his approach to photographing nature in all its forms. Thanks, Byron for a great presentation.

Our March meeting should be a real treat…a field trip to the Frist Center for the Visual Arts to see the Irving Penn exhibit. Unfortunately our member docent, Susan Striepe, is in the process of completing her thesis and is not working with the Frist center this semester. That means I will be scheduling the tour and handling the finances (Oh, boy!). Continue reading

Pinhole Photography…

First, there was the workshop / shoot at Centennial Park last Sunday; Denney under the weather, but Gerald brought a bunch of film cameras w/ pin holes and we shot for a couple of hours. (Gerald was also kind enough to do the processing and scanning for us.)

At our meeting last night they discussed some of the theory and history of pinhole photography, and Gerald discussed some of his own work as well as some that members brought in…a very enjoyable and informative event. Continue reading
